General stuff
Okay so i obviously havnt posted on D-Blog for a while mainly because (for obvious reasons) im focusing more on XDnet’s Blog, and have been aiming at a post a day, which with Mike Rogem helping has been a realitity for the past week! big achievement for me… which you can tell from this blog.
Anyway as im trying to blog more about tech i have been reading alot more Tech Blogs, obviously TechCrunch is on the list and so far its been quite interesting read actually i had always known about it but never found the time to read, now im stopping to read hopefully i can be more up on the latest developments within the web/tech world!
If anyone has any good tech orientated blogs to read do reply as i would like a good range to read always good fun and can often help with ideas for my own posts

General stuff
Hi just thought i would drop a note to tell people the XDnet.co.uk Blog is online so take a look so far i have written (yes I DID write them) two posts about Google Chrome and the different types of webhosting so do take a look and check em out! http://xdnet.co.uk/blog
So from now on i will be trying to get any webhosting or web tech related posts which are written decently on to XDnet’s blog and this will be for more personal and off topic blogging.
Thanks,
Dan

General stuff,
Ranting
I am watching dragons den on iPlayer at the moment, and i am noticing how the narrator says almost exactly the same thing every show!
“It takes a brave entrpenur to lock horns with *dragons name*”
“Its all but over for *name*’s pitch”
“Will *dragons name* throw them a lifeline?”
“Its been an emptional session in the den”
“… didn’t hold water with *dragon*”
“…any hope of getting back investment”
“will this *adjective* entrpenur secure that much needed investment?”
Its just boring! I Love dragons den its a great show but need some originallity with the narration!

General stuff
I just read an article on MSNBC where a woman Rachel Beckman, talked about offensive facebook ads, which pick up on your information and supply “relevent” ads, such as “Your a muffin top” (She informs us that a muffin top is “For those blissfully unacquainted with the slur, it’s when a woman wears too-tight jeans and a roll of flab hangs over her waistband.”).
She also says about ads which pick up on her engagement status, with things like loose weight before the big day etc, and then once her status changed to married she gots pregnancy ones…
Now i can understand that you dont want to be bombared with ads whcih offend you, but are you seriously telling me this is new?!
Google, THE biggest ad site with their Adsense/Adwords program, where Google uses its advanced search engine, which can extract meaning and key information from a webpage to show users “relevent” ads depending on the pages content, but this isnt really new?
Everyone expects to see ads for weightloss if they are looking at a site with “How to loose weight in ten easy steps”… I just dont see the suprise specific targeted ads are (in theory) better for everyone, the person who pays for the ads, gets them shown to people who are more likely to buy, the advertising agency (eg, Google Adwords, or Facebook or Yahoo publisher etc) makes more money because it increased a high click through rate… and the end users in theory get ads which they are more interested in…
And i think TV is going the same way, one day when we have fully interactive TV we will have ads suited to put viewing habbits, and prefrences etc.
Okay just a minirant, im gonna go cycle into town
Cya laters guys.
