Just a quick post to check out what it is like to blog using the android wordpress app on my new LG inTouch Max mobile!
I will proberly be posting a full review of the phone and probably some comments about tmobile too… but for now i shall keep it short.
So far i like the phone it is a fairly big leap from the sony Ericsson k800i. Unfortunately i am not truely in love with it, it has a nice slide out keypad (which i have used to type this post with no spelling mistakes and at a suprising speed) and the touch screen is responsive although the home button is far too sesnsitive as i keep knocking it particularly when typing… also i keep running into the limited processing power as often get process crashing and seems to easily get slow and had a few complete system crashes. Not to mention that it is only android version 1.5… just a mere 0.1 below Google navigation. More to follow!
I thought I would write a little review for the iPod dock/alarm clock I got for Christmas, hope this helps!
The Goodmans GCR1872 iPod Dock Alarm clock is a small stylish device which which has 2 handy alarm timings, includes a FM radio and also Aux input and output.
The alarm clock function allows for 3 types – iPod (plays iPod), Buzzer and FM Radio and the display panel also includes many brightness levels.
The sound quality is pretty good considering it only has 2 x 3W small speakers.
While I liked the Goodmans GCR1872 iPod Dock Alarm Clock I recently had to return it because the iPod connector came away from the main circuit board.
A lot of the problem I found with this product us the iPod Tocuh (Gen 1) didn’t properly clip into the mount, so I either had to not use a mount of have the iPod Touch mount improperly fitted, which probably lead to extra strain on the dock connector.
Unfortunately because this cost me £39.99 and it broke in less than 2 months, I have to recommend you avoid this product as it seems like it is poorly built in places and is not long lasting with long term use… which is a shame for such a nice compact little gadget.
I am finding it rather amusing how a it seems a group of webhosts which claim that they are not the same all have the same support staff and funnily just had a convo where they quoted an email for the other company…

Just posting a few basic bits of info about how the TwitterBot Service is currently running.
So the twitter bot is currently requesting the last 20 tweets fron the public timeline every minute (on a every minute cron) meaning at the moment the public timeline requests come out of the main server IP and are falling far below the 100/hr limit. However currently looking into ideas on how to increase the rate to catch more tweets! (Ideas welcome, please leave a comment or email me).
The tweets which get catched by the tweet grabber bot are saved into a database to be processed, I then have another bot “ProcessingBot” (I am immaginative with my script names i know) runs every 5 minutes and loops through each unprocessed tweet, and each bot in the system checking for matches to 3 phrases stored in the DB (I will be changing this part to make it more flexiable ASAP) and if it matches the tweet gets retweeted to the bot account in the format of (@SCREEN_NAME) TWEET as you can see on @JacksonBot which is currently retweeting tweets with the key phrases of “Jackson” “MJ” and “Micheal Jackson” and seems to be working very well (currently 500+ tweets in 12 hours and 32 followers – Yes I am hoping this doesnt hit the post limit and have applied for whitelisting).
Wow i finally pulled my finger out and have been working hard today starting work on a twitter bot service, now so far i have some of the core done, and infact now have 3 bots running @jacksonbot which unsuprisingly (should) pick up tweets about Micheal Jackson, the second is a Note to self bot… appropriately named @NoteToSelfBot and then the 3rd bot i have going is the @IsDeadBot which while slightly morbit picks up tweets for things realted to erm dead things.
Now i will be working very hard on this system to get it all working nicely and there maybe bugs in the output (please email me if you spot any!) , and eventually i will be developing this into a full service which should enable users to simply signup and have their very own twitter bot!
I honestly can’t wait to get this going so see you tomorrow and will try and keep you all posted.
Okay so i stumbled across this video the other day on YouTube and i just loved it, it seems this video is the one on YouTube which is the proper music video and i just think its brilliant and funny to watch the puppet!
