<p>The BCC header, as the name suggests sends the email to the recipients, but unlike TO and CC the other recipients can’t also see who else has been BCC’ed in.</p>
<p>This is obviously very beneficial when sending the same email to many people and for privacy you shouldn’t be disclosing everyone else’s email address.</p>
<p>I recently received an email from T-mobile UK which did exactly this. A mass email to numerous people, and everybody was in the TO. Details include full names, email addresses and even some phone numbers.</p>

</div><div style="clear:both"></div><div style="padding-bottom:4px;"></div><p>Recently i decided to start using Microsoft Outlook 2007 instead of Windows Mail which comes default with Vista, now in Windows Mail i counted a total of 5 simple clicks to turn on read receipts, so every email i sent requests one &#8211; you can see a tutorial for <a title="How to turn on Read Receipts in Outlook" href="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/2009/03/31/how-to-turn-on-read-reciepts-with-windows-mail/">how to turn on read receipts for Window Mail here </a>- in Outlook it takes a few more, as shown below.</p>
<p><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-319" title="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciepts - Tools - Options Menu" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/30-03-09-outlook-read-reciept-1-300x280.jpg" alt="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciepts - Tools - Options Menu" width="300" height="280" /></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Firstly click the Tools tab in the menu and select &#8220;Options&#8221;.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="size-full wp-image-320 alignright" title="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciept - Options - E-mail Options" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/30-03-09-outlook-read-reciept-2.jpg" alt="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciept - Options - E-mail Options" width="400" height="227" /></p>
<p>Now on the next option simply select &#8220;E-mail Options&#8230;&#8221; which will open (yet) another menu.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-321" title="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciepts - E-mail Options - Tracking Options" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/30-03-09-outlook-read-reciept-3.jpg" alt="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciepts - E-mail Options - Tracking Options" width="400" height="214" /></p>
<p> </p>
<p>And now on this menu if you select &#8220;Tracking Options&#8230;&#8221;  you will be presented with the final menu.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-322" title="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciept - Tracking Options - Read Reciept" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/30-03-09-outlook-read-reciept-4.jpg" alt="Microsoft Outlook Read Reciept - Tracking Options - Read Reciept" width="385" height="375" /></p>
<p> </p>
<p>Now on this menu you can see it gives you a tick box of &#8220;Read Receipt&#8221; tick this box to enable read receipt requests.</p>
<p>Additionally you can set other settings below, to either Always send a read receipt, never send one or to always ask you if you want to send one each time you send an email.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Hopefully you found this tutorial quick and easy in explaining how to request read reciepts in Outlook.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t forget to comment, bookmark and get in contact, if you have ideas for possible tutorials or if you just want to say hello.</p>

</div><div style="clear:both"></div><div style="padding-bottom:4px;"></div><p>This is a simply little tutorial on how to use or turn on Read Receipts in Windows Mail.</p>
<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-326" title="Windows Mail - Read Reciepts - Tools - Options" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/30-03-09-windowsmail-read-reciept-1.jpg" alt="Windows Mail - Read Reciepts - Tools - Options" width="400" height="320" /></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;">First go the tools menu and select &#8220;Options&#8230;&#8221;.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"> </p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="size-full wp-image-328 aligncenter" title="Windows Mail - Read Reciepts - Options Menu" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/30-03-09-windowsmail-read-reciept-21.jpg" alt="Windows Mail - Read Reciepts - Options Menu" width="450" height="271" /></p>
<p>On the window above select the receipts tab, now you are presented with multiple settings for read receipts.</p>
<p>Tick the box for &#8220;Request a read reciept for all sent messages&#8221; and click OK.</p>
<p>And that&#8217;s it! Simple and easy, additionally of course you can choose if you wish to be notified every time about to request a read receipt or if they should be sent automatically.</p>
<p>Hopefully you found this tutorial helpful, so please comment!</p>

<p><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-205" title="outlook_webaccess_newmsg_notworking" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outlook_webaccess_newmsg_notworking-300x225.jpg" alt="outlook_webaccess_newmsg_notworking" width="192" height="144" />However i was unable to compose/reply to messages when using Outlook Web Access when using Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) and i got the familar MS Red &#8220;X&#8221; when i tried to create a new message.</p>
<p>This is not a problem in other browsers, such as IE6 or Google Chrome. The problem is due to security in IE7 where ActiveX and MIME is not accepted.</p>
<p>However this tutorial will quickly guide you through how this can be quickly solved.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-209" title="outlook_webaccess_options_button1" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outlook_webaccess_options_button1.jpg" alt="outlook_webaccess_options_button1" width="197" height="112" />1.</strong> Login to your Outlook Web Access account using Internet Explorer 7.</p>
<p>Click &#8220;Options&#8221; on the left pane.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><img class="size-full wp-image-201 alignright" title="outlook_webaccess_mime_download" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outlook_webaccess_mime_download.jpg" alt="outlook_webaccess_mime_download" width="220" height="120" />2. </strong>Under &#8220;Email Security&#8221; you can see either Download or Upgrade the S/MIME Control.</p>
<p>Click this to download/update the controls used for the message body.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-203" title="outlook_webaccess_mime_run" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outlook_webaccess_mime_run.jpg" alt="outlook_webaccess_mime_run" width="228" height="110" /><img class="size-medium wp-image-202 alignright" title="outlook_webaccess_mime_run1" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outlook_webaccess_mime_run1-300x200.jpg" alt="outlook_webaccess_mime_run1" width="173" height="115" />3. </strong>Click run when asked on both message boxes.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-204" title="outlook_webaccess_mime_installing" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outlook_webaccess_mime_installing.jpg" alt="outlook_webaccess_mime_installing" width="300" height="117" />The S/MIME will then install.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>4. </strong>Once the S/MIME has finished installing re-start Internet Explorer 7.</p>
<p><strong><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-206" title="outlook_webaccess_newmsg_working" src="http://dansgalaxy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/outlook_webaccess_newmsg_working.jpg" alt="outlook_webaccess_newmsg_working" width="400" height="387" /></strong></p>
<p><strong>5.</strong> You should now find that new messages body is showing and displaying correctly, and you are now able to send email via Outlook Web Access!</p>
